In the Champions League final, Inter Milan lost 0-5 to Paris Saint-Germain. Midfielder Nicolo Barella expressed his recognition of the team's performance in the past few years and his determination to move forward in the future.
At the press conference after the game, Barrera said: "This is a frustrating night and a regrettable end to our journey, but I am proud of this team. In the past few years, no matter which event we have participated in, we have always tried our best."
Facing the overwhelming performance of PSG, Barrera pointed out that Inter Milan was at a disadvantage in terms of tactics, physical fitness and psychology. Nicolo Barrera said: "There are always key moments in the game that can change the trend."
"For example, their second goal was scored on a counterattack from a corner kick. We tried to press forward in the second half, knowing that it would be risky, but we had no choice. PSG showed their quality and every counterattack was threatening, and they took advantage of every opportunity."
Despite the tragic defeat, Barella stressed that Inter Milan will not sink: "We have experienced setbacks in the past, and we have always been able to stand up from failure. Today is indeed a heavy blow, but what we can do is to keep our heads down and work hard to get back to the top."
"In the final, fatigue cannot be an excuse. The most regrettable thing is that the opponent seemed to want to win more than us. We tried our best to attack, but ended up giving the opponent space. Now what we need to do is to sort out our emotions, try to cheer up, and start again."
